Tales of a Tech has died.

On 2026-06-04, MySQL performed an automated, unrequested upgrade, which failed.

This left the database completely corrupt, stuck in-between versions 8.0.45 and 8.0.46.

No tools could assist with recovering these files. They were simply hosed.

The backup file I had taken in March of 2026 was of no help, sadly.

All content is gone.

I just went through this in March, where something happened to the Digital Ocean droplet I was using, making it completely unable to boot. After 2 weeks of fighting I finally got the site back up and running. Here we are not even 3 months later, and it is dead again. Tales was a project I ran from 2013. I am heartbroken. I am tired.
