So, as you know, I’ve been working on figuring out so major problems with my car; between the exhaust and the driveshaft and the gaskets, and just general maintenance altogether, it’s just been one fight after another.

Today, I solved one problem, and found a bigger problem.

The problem I solved: The annoying rattle behind my dash.  The solution: A piece of double foam tape to secure the HVAC pipe to it’s proper location (it was wiggling loose and rattling against the back of the dashboard, so I just taped it there).

The problem I found: My passenger side brake caliper is seized up.

F***.

So, I’ve been having some weird issues with my 2008 Ford Escape (3.0L) and Dan nudged me in a direction to take a look.

The issues were largely limited to acceleration and power: namely we had two hot as dickens days last week and my car shuddered hard during acceleration and certain idle periods.  It was really quite scary.

Dan suggested that I look at the Throttle Body on my Escape, since the last time he had this issue it was as simple as using some throttle body cleaner on it.

This is an early one, normally we don’t get a driving situation video until about halfway, maybe three-quarters-way through the month.  This month is different, obviously.

The video is presented without comment.  You know, other than to say “OH SHIT.”

p.s. Great job on the auto-generated thumbnails YouTube.  PERFECT.

This morning on the way to work I encountered an idiot driver.

This idiot properly signaled their turn and initiated said turn properly.

That being said, they stopped their car as soon as they hit the drive way and just sort of stayed there.

Right in the middle of the road.

Yup.

Presented here, because I can.

Fun on a bun!

I know, I know, I know, I feel like I’ve covered this topic a million time at this point but it really ticked me off this morning and so I’m going to talk about it again: driver’s in NJ are just terrible.

In the past I’ve talked about how bad NY and PA drivers are, but after driving out through to Michigan and beyond a few times I really just need to say it: NJ drivers are just terrible, horrible, horrific, assholes.  Anyone who has driven in or around NJ will probably secretly agree.

People from NJ probably won’t, because they largely think everyone else is just horrific and they’re just driving to deal with it.

I wholeheartedly disagree.

So, yesterday morning I went to go start my car and found my car wouldn’t respond to ANYTHING. At all. Literally. No lights, no unlock, no keypad, no lights, no nothing. Sad trombone.  Mild freakout, call Dan, Dan gives me a ride to work.  Day salvaged so far.  Not the best start to a Wednesday, but whatever, it’s just one of the perks of owning a car, I suppose.
